Answering All Your Questions
DRH Solar and Electric wants to insure that you have answers to all of your questions about our Residential Solar Systems and installation services. Residential Solar System installation available throughout Southern California.
How big of a system do I need?
The most effective solar system size will be determined through the energy evaluation. Based on your current electric usage/billing and available space for panels, we’ll recommend a system that will offset up to 100% of your electricity consumption.
How much will a solar system save us?
Your energy use and the size of your solar energy system will determine your actual savings amount. Your solar system will start saving you on your monthly bill immediately and become more valuable each year as the cost of electricity rises.
How long will the installation take?
Most residential systems are installed in 1 – 3 days.
What is net energy metering?
Net energy metering is the retail rate structure that your utility uses to determine credits you earn when your solar system produces more electricity than you consume. The current net energy metering schedule, approved by the CPUC in January 2016, is valid through 2019.
How long will my solar system last?
Your system will be guaranteed for 25 years, although it could realistically last for 40+ years.
Will a solar system increase my property taxes?
No. While a solar system adds value to your home, there is no increase to your property tax in California.
What type of financing is available?
There are many ways to pay for your solar system and DRH will work to identify the best value for you. There are Zero Down plans, Power Purchase Agreements, HERO financing, cash options and more.
Are there any rebates or tax credits to help pay for the solar system?
Yes. Several municipal electric systems in California continue to offer rebates that will offset a portion of the system costs. We will advise you of the availability of a rebate when we conduct your energy evaluation. In addition, there is a 30% Federal Tax Credit available for solar installations.
What type of equipment will be installed on my home?
DRH installs a wide variety of Tier 1 equipment. Taking into account all factors, we determine the best solution to maximize your electricity production and minimize your electric bill. All equipment comes with manufacturer warranties of up to 25 years.
